About what we do
Here at joeychinchilla we aim to make every chinchilla that comes to us as happy and healthy as possible, we work hard to ensure they get all the treatment, love and care that they need, we have a special room for all our chinchillas which has air-conditioning and has purposely built cubby holes so that each cage has it's own section, this makes for easy cleaning without having to move a stack of cages.
Rescues/Re-homes
Rescues/Re-homes that come to us are kept separate until we are sure they have nothing wrong with them that could spread throughout all our chinchilla family and then they are able to join the others in the chin room,
Breeding pairs
We have several breeding pairs, some that we have taken on from other breeders that have had to give up for one reason or another and some that we have purchased from the top breeders in the country, when we sell chinchillas that have been born here they all come with as much pedigree information as we can give and all have one of our special breeder codes.
Re-homing
Re-homing is a hard job for us to do because we become very attached to all our chinchillas but it has so many rewards especially when they go to people that stay in touch and email us photos to keep us up to date with their progress.
We always ask a lot of questions and if we are not happy with the replies we will not re-home to the person/persons involved we have to make sure the chinchillas we re-home are going somewhere that knows what they are doing and can given them their forever home they so deservedly need.
Rescues
We have a limited amount of space but we do our best never to turn away a chinchilla or chinchillas in need (saying this we never over stretch ourselves either because this would not be good for anyone least of all the chinchillas involved) on the rare occasion we have to say no we put the people in touch with other local rescues and then follow up on their progress.
