Our Darling Merlin

Bad news on February 9th, I came down to find our darling Merlin dead with Rufus trying to wake him up, Rufus got very upset jumping on me when I was getting Merlin out of the cage and he did a loud call in chin talk, I am devasted he was happy running around the night before and now he has gone, all I can say is he will never ever be forgotten he was a very beutiful boy and will be missed more than I can express.

Merlin born 2002 died 9th February 2007

R.I.P. little boy we love you

Chinchilla Adverts

Posted by joeychinchilla at 06:54 PM on January 26, 2007 Comments comments (0)

Hi everyone just thought I would have a little chat about chinchilla adverts...

When people advertise chinchillas it's nice to know as much as possible about the chinchillas being advertised. I find a lot of adverts only state things like grey chin with cage or stuff along those lines. Then when you enquire they inform you how much they want and depending on what you ask them they then inform you of what they know.

Do you find chinchillas are being over priced when there are no pedigrees available?

I find this is happening more and more,

Now personally I feel that if you are having to re-home a chinchilla for any reason that the most important thing is that you are happy they are going to the best possible home not more interested in the price the person is willing to pay for it, As you know if you have read my website pages I run a small rescue and re-home and any re-homes we take on are only ever asked for a small amount of money as I prefer that I know they are going to the best possible caring forever home and we take in as rescues we tend to keep permanently unless specifically asked if they can be re-homed by someone else..

What is most important to you when re-homing a chinchilla?

Money or a caring home?

I think you already know my answer to this, A loving caring home that will treat the chinchilla with the love and attention it deserves.

To end this little chat all I want to say is that if someone is prepared to travel several miles to give a chinchilla a home then surely that shows their commitment to these wonderful animals that we are so lucky to know and love as part of our families.

Please share your comments with me I do appreciate it
